ALAN THORNDIKE, Of Counsel to the firm, has a general civil practice, with concentration in commercial and residential real estate transactions and development, environmental and zoning matters, formation and operation of business entities, estate planning, probate, business, and administrative law. Mr. Thorndike was educated at Deerfield Academy and Dartmouth College (B.A., 1968). He was a Ltjg. in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1970–1972. He graduated from the University of Maine School of Law (J.D., 1976) where he served as Associate Editor of the Maine Law Review. He has had leadership roles in the community as President of the Stowe Education Fund, Chair of the Stowe Land Trust, and President of the Stowe Rotary Club. Mr. Thorndike has been engaged in private practice since his admission to the Vermont Bar in 1977, and currently serves as a Director Emeritus and legal counsel of the Stowe Land Trust.
