About

E. DARBY HERRINGTON (She/Her) has been in private practice since 2001. When it comes to resolving disputes, Attorney Herrington recognizes that no two matters are the same. This inspires her to consistently provide caring, attentive and individualized services to best meet each client’s needs while working toward their goals. Settling cases without going to court is not only a priority but also has shaped her style of practice, most suitable to individuals seeking resolution through reasonable, fair and productive means. 


Trained and experienced in Collaborative Practice since 2010, Attorney Herrington assists individuals in reaching creative and lasting outcomes while preserving their dignity. She implements modern methods to facilitate resolving disputes and encourages clients to develop tools for maintaining healthy, respectful relationships even after the dust settles. 


Her practice is focused in the areas of divorce, parentage, child custody and support, post-divorce and co-parenting disputes, pre-nuptial/post-nuptial/co-habitation agreements, landlord/tenant disputes, real property and landowner disputes, contract formation and disputes, LLC formation, probate and estate planning.


Attorney Herrington graduated from the University of Vermont (B.S., 1995), and the University of Maine School of Law (J.D., 2000), where she served as a student attorney for the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic and a member of the Moot Court Board. She is also admitted to practice law in the State of Maine and is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Collaborative Practice Vermont, and the Vermont Bar Association. She resides in Waterbury and stays active with her husband, three children and their dog and cat.
